Services

I support arts, culture and heritage organisations in developing confident, critical and creative relationships with AI, through workshops and briefings, organisational guidance, public and practitioner sessions, and longer-term projects and partnerships. My practice is grounded in a deliberately neutral position on the technology itself, alongside a specialism in the sector's particular contexts, values and questions. This work is informed by more than 100 AI learning sessions delivered specifically for arts, culture and heritage, and by an approach (learn more) that responds actively to the questions, concerns and themes emerging within each organisation.

Testimonials

Bradford Producing Hub

"Wow! What an INCREDIBLE workshop facilitator Jocelyn is. I've seen Jocelyn present a couple of talks with the Arts Marketing Association and have found them so engaging and interesting. I therefore didn't hesitate to book Jocelyn to host a workshop on AI for artists in Bradford on behalf of Bradford Producing Hub. I work with artists every day and I hear and feel how suspicious and cautious they are about AI, especially the threat it provides to copyright and the work of creatives. When planning the workshop with Jocelyn she put me at complete ease and completely understood the angle we were exploring in hosting an AI workshop that wasn't going to alienate our audiences. And boy did Jocelyn deliver! Not only is her knowledge deep, her presentation skills are just fantastic. The whole day workshop kept our attendees engaged and interested throughout and we've since had feedback from attendees stating it has transformed the way they work not only creatively (without compromising the integrity of their work) but also their approach to fundraising. Jocelyn's workshop was also fun and playful - literally everything you'd want from an AI workshop that's genuinely in touch with the creative sector. Our executive director was even receiving comments on how good it was from participants in conversation over the following weeks! We would not hesitate to work with Jocelyn again - 100/10!"

— Frances Murphy, Marketing & Communications Manager at Bradford Producing Hub

Art Fund

"Jo presented a calm, expert and emotionally nuanced take on AI, which highlighted the importance of play and trying tools out. This really helped break down people's uncertainty around AI and the session left everyone with a practical and theoretical knowledge that they can take into their roles in the future."

— Mike Keating, Associate Director, Digital Experience at Art Fund

"Wow, what a fantastic session! She responded openly to our questions, encouraged curiosity, and adapted the session fluidly to our interests. The session had a really open and fun atmosphere, which made it possible for everyone to learn about and engage with AI, despite many of us having never used these tools before. I highly recommend working with Jo, who was a brilliantly accessible teacher, and highly skilled (as well as fun!) facilitator. 10/10."

— Lizzie Richards, Marketing Assistant, Art Fund

"It was a great creative introduction. Terminology was great and also interative. Liked the discussion and interaction and have a go with tools. Can't think of any improvements, even people online were engaged. It was good that we covered playing with the technology at the end, but not publishing output on Art Fund channels."

— Carolyn Young, Director of Audiences, Art Fund

"Jo was a fantastic facilitator who made me feel really empowered about how I might approach AI. I feel much more excited about how I will approach using it in future! Lots to learn and even some fun to be had."

Projects Abroad

"Jocelyn is a fantastic speaker. She made what is a very large, confusing and technically complicated topic seem accessible, understandable and fun. Her teaching style is visual, interactive and entertaining. It kept a fast pace, while always providing time for questions. It meant we got to see so many different areas of how AI is used, and new innovations. She also let us tailor the workshop to our company's needs, allowing us to focus more on how AI can help with Operations tasks and what our destination and pre-departure staff can use it for with their day to day activities. It was great to see certain staff being inspired and excited about this new area of technology. I know a number of them are eager to dive further into the world of AI on their own independent learning journeys now after an inspiring introduction to the field."

— Chris Mcvicker, Operations Manager, Projects Abroad

-Attendee, Crafts Council member session

-Attendee, Crafts Council member session

Cure Parkinson’s

“Jocelyn, that was a superb presentation. The best on AI I have ever heard, and one of the best on any topic I have heard for years! Thank you. I will recommend your consultancy very highly to my charity, professional and commercial contacts alike.”

- William Cook, Chair of Development Board of Cure Parkinson's

“A thoroughly fascinating and comprehensive review of what is going on, superbly and very eloquently presented with just the right mix of content to allow anyone who has only a vague idea about AI tools and activities and perhaps just a bit of expert knowledge but confined to their own field to grasp what might be of relevance to them in every aspect of life.”

- Dr Joy Duffen, Cure Parkinson’s

“I really enjoyed the session and thought it was really useful for learning what's out there. Jocelyn was really great to listen to. She was warm and open, making the session a positive experience.”

- Elizabeth White, Major Gifts Manager, Cure Parkinson’s

“I found Jocelyn's AI session so informative and helpful. It really made me question my own perceptions of AI and I left feeling that I had the tools to have a more critical approach when thinking about AI. I've already starting using some of the resources Jocelyn recommended and have been thinking about ways I could integrate it into my work life. Thank you Jocelyn for an exceptional session!”

- Emily, Trusts and Major Gifts Officer, Cure Parkinson’s

Creative Island Network

“Jocelyn was both approachable and formidable. Her unique presentation style was energetic and warm, which helped to make AI feel less threatening. She kept the pace of the workshop moving and introduced a number of interactive sessions which made sitting in a seat for three hours less daunting. I have rarely - if ever - attended a session so skilfully put together. I was even inspired to watch the documentary AlphaGo after an almost throwaway comment from Jocelyn. There was nothing I didn't enjoy, which is an accolade indeed considering how alienating I found the prospect of attending the session!”

- Participant, Creative Island Network workshop session

“Jocelyn was an entertaining, generous and informative speaker. Her enthusiasm for her subject was irresistibly infectious and she got even the most unwilling in the room interacting with AI, expanding our minds as to the multiple ways we could use it in our thinking and creative practice and organisation.”

-Rosemary Lawrey, Artist

“The session with Jocelyn was straight off the bat engaging and perspective changing. I felt challenged, in a playful way, to look at my perceptions of AI which I was very appreciative of. The talks and tasks were entertaining and professional, delivered in digestible time segments that gave space to interact with Jocelyn and other participants of the session.”

Nathan Holt, Artist

Japan House London

“The sessions were fun as well as being incredibly informative, and engaged even the most sceptical members of the team.”

Heidi Isa, Director - Marketing & Communications

Arke Agency

“AI Learning that's not just informative but fun! Jocelyn created an experience, not just a teaching segment based on AI, that incorporated practical elements to get everyone involved and get hands-on learning that is far more superior than your basic slideshow/academic book could ever offer. Learning the endless possibilities of AI that is and forever will be part of society, work and even life; allowed us to understand the pros and cons of LLMs, AI video, AI mage and much more that a Marketing agency deals with on a day-to-day basis. Opening our minds. Many people fear AI and its potential impact on the future, from privacy concerns to apocalyptic scenarios. However, Jocelyn's expert guidance and comprehensive understanding of AI can reshape the perspectives of those working with or just starting to explore AI. She helps them envision the possibilities. The reality is that AI is here to stay, and as Jocelyn suggests, we should embrace it and most importantly, have fun with it.”

Sam Dadd - Senior Paid Media Executive, Arke Agency

“I saw Jocelyn at the Brighton Summit, presenting a keynote. Their passion and excitement (not fear) of AI was refreshing from all the other AI talks I had seen. Therefore it was an obvious choice of who we should engage to introduce and train our agency on the various applications as well as ethics, limitations of AI. The team now have a more confident and playful approach to trialing new tools, whilst we as an agency roll out the ones with immediate effect and success.”
